Dole Fresh Fruit International Ltd., sources organic bananas and pineapples from 6 countries in Latin America: Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Honduras. A team of dedicated agricultural professionals are behind this successful program which initiated in 1996. DOLE Organic Bananas comply with the very same quality standards as the conventional bananas, with the difference that they have been grown organically.

 

Vision and Goal

With the organic banana and pineapple research programs in place, Dole is able to fine-tune and implement more natural control procedures in the conventionally grown crops too, which are already grown under the internationally recognized environmental ISO 14000 standards.

Dole was the first company of scale to be awarded the ISO 14000 certificate for all their growing areas in the tropics. All of this is part of the continuous improvement, which Dole sets as its never-ending goal to better serve the environment and the final consumers every day.
